1. The Cathedral of Brasilia, Cathedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida, is a Roman Catholic Christian church in the capital of Brazil. It was designed by the famous Oscar Niemeyer, consisting of 16 concrete columns.

2. La Cathedrale de la Resurrection is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the French town of Evry, the work of the architect Mario Botta.

3. The Chapel of the Holy Cross is a Roman Catholic church in Sedona, Arizona, work of the Anshen & Allen bureau. The inspiration for the church came from the newly constructed Empire State Building at the time.

4. Iglesia Parroquial en Rivas Vaciamadrid in Madrid, Spain, is famous for the unusual color of rust on the facade.

6. The Leaf Chapel in Kobuchizawa, Japan, is formed by two leaves: one glass, one steel, the work of architect Klein Dytham.

7. Temppeliaukio is a Lutheran church in Helsinki often used for music performances.

8. The US Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel in Colorado Springs is an excellent example of modern architecture. Consisting of 17 towers, each with 100 identical tetrahedrons it has special chapels for different religions.
